Why did I go? For work – Leaving Vancouver in summer is never easy, but bills have to be paid, and this job in particular was ideal in several ways… turned out better than I thought!
Why did I go? This was my first international work as a geologist, and I knew I would meet and travel with several Turkish geologists and other locals. In addition, I had the option of spending several days on my own for leisure travel. Work and pleasure!
Why did I go? After visiting big cities in Spain, it was time to switch gears and visit a small town. Situated conveniently along my travel route, it was an easy choice. I didn’t know at the time it would turn out to be my favorite small town in Europe up to date. Peaceful, calm and beautiful is how I describe this town. Short of partying, this town has something special to offer for couples or solo travelers.
I was in Buenos Aires (BA) for a total of 4 weeks over my 2 visits in December of 2009 and 2012. Pretty much every day I was there I picked a neighborhood and walked/biked/jogged its streets. They say Buenos Aires is the Paris of South America. I say it’s more than that.
